Diabetes is a chronic (i.e. long-term) condition where the body cannot regulate blo od sugar properly. In type 1 diabetes, the immune system destroys insulin-produci ng beta cells. In type 2, the body resists insulin’s action. Gestational diabetes affec ts some women during pregnancy.

Adult mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are special cells found in bone marrow, fat t issue, and umbilical cord blood. They can renew themselves and transform into oth er cell types. More importantly, they release healing signals that reduce inflammati on,protect tissues, and support regeneration.

In diabetes, MSC therapy works in two ways. First, it calms the immune attack that destroys insulin-producing cells. Second, it helps the pancreas repair and regenera te,giving beta cells a chance to recover. In type 2 diabetes, MSCs improve insulin s ensitivity, which means the body uses insulin more effectively. Studies also show M SCs can reduce long-term complications like kidney and nerve damage by restorin g blood vessel health.

Unlike traditional drugs that only manage blood sugar, stem cell therapy addresses the root damage. While it is not a magic cure,it offers real potential to reduce depe ndence on insulin and improve quality of life for patients living with different types of diabetes.
