
Sahara Group,a leading international energy and infrastructure conglomerate has announced a partnership deal “MAKING A DIFFERENCE” with National Association of energy Correspondents, NAEC to promote excellence in all aspects of energy news reporting.
With a workshop titled #M.A.D.with NAEC,the company in a statement released by Bethel Obioma,Head of Corporate Communications at Sahara Group and Ugo Amadi,Chairman of NAEC,said the annual initiative is aimed at supporting Energy Reporters to sharpen their skill and assist in effectively driving Nigeria’s energy sector reforms and the global energy Transition.It will also form part of activities lined up ahead of the annual NAEC conference 2025 holding on Thursday October 9 at Eko Hotels.
Bethel Obioma,Head of corporate communications, Sahara Group, said the pre- conference workshop taking place on Monday,October 6 2025 at Joygate Hotel,Airport Road,Ajao estate gate,Lagos will ensure that”Every headline,news story and analyses shapes perception.By investing in the capacity of Energy journalists,we are strengthening the integrity of Nigeria’s energy ecosystem and ultimately laying the foundation for seamless knowledge sharing and sustainability in energy reporting”
He went further “At Sahara Group, we believe accurate,responsible and insightful reporting has the power to shape perception,attract investment and promote transparency in the energy sector”.
Ugo Amadi, the chairman of NAEC, noted that the platform offered by the workshop would deepen the knowledge of energy Correspondents to effectively play the critical roles of agenda setting,gate keeping and news gathering.
# M.A.D.with NAEC workshop will feature sessions that will be anchored by Bethel Obioma,Kingsley Okotie,Head of corporate communications at Ikeja Electric Plc,Olabode Sowunmi,CEO Cabtree Ltd and Dr Vincent Nwanma,a member of Daily Trust editorial board.
The pre- conference workshop is expected to be an appetiser for the NAEC 2025 Annual conference which will bring together, policy makers, regulators,investors,industry leaders and Journalists to discuss issues shaping Nigeria’s energy future.
