Samuel (Sam) O Nwanze ,Executive Director and Chief Financial officer ( CFO) of Heirs Energies and Chief investment officer of Heirs Holdings has emerged as the Africa CFO of the year at the prestigious All Africa Business Leaders Awards ( AABLA) in partnership with CNBC Africa.

A statement sent to Crude Reports magazine by Chidimma Ugbojiaku ,Manager External and Government Relations for Heirs Energies described the award as an exceptional achievement that has made every staff of Heirs Holdings Group proud and filled with joy.

The company said the award is a testament to Heirs Holdings Group Chairman, Tony Elumelu and his philosophy of championing African excellence through Africapitalism as well as being a direct reflection of the world class talent and strategic ambition being built within the Group. It adds further that the award is a confirmation of Sam Nwanze’s leadership in high stakes finance and investment which is a key driver of Heirs Energies success thereby making the award a pride to everyone in the company.

The statement noted that Sam is “not only a CFO in the traditional sense, he is an architect of growth,a deal maker and a strategic force whose journey has been defined by landmark transactions and unwavering financial discipline that has reshaped Heirs Energies portfolio and the Energy landscape in Africa”

A brief look at Sam Nwanze’s record of performance showed that he packaged the raising of a 2.5 Billion US dollars financing facility and deployed these resources to secure 45% of OML 17 which earned him the prestigious Project Finance International ( PFI) ‘African Oil Deal of the Year award in 2021.

His performance sheet also includes oversight functions over a diversified empire exceeding 10.3 billion dollars in assets under management across oil.and gas, power,financial services and real estate..

The Africa Chief Financial officer award was judged by a panel of the Continent’s most respected business leaders which validates that Sam Nwanze is a world class,a sought after voice at the African Union,The Milken Institute,Said Business school at the University of Oxford and his role as the first African on the board of the Global Impact Investing Network ( GIIN) places him at the forefront of global finance.
