A man whose throne has been ordained by God may stumble on the road suffer defeats and wait through seasons of disappointments, but when his appointed time comes, destiny will open the door that opposition could not permanently shut.
In other words, when a man is ordained by God, opposition may delay him, defeats may test his faith and the road may become longer than expected, but no earthly force or forces can permanently stop him from taking his appointed seat on the throne of destiny.
The above scenario typically fits Prof.Dayo Faduyile, now a Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Grand reception organised as part of a twin event of September 13 Thanksgiving service at St Joseph Catholic Church ikoya was not an easy political victory, the way it might have come the way of other politicians. This was a political victory that came after three political defeats.
In 2011, Prof. Dayo Faduyile contested the Ondo state House of Assembly Okitipupa constituency 11 on the platform of ACN but he was unsuccessful. In 2015, he moved to the Federal level and contested for Okitipupa/ Irele Federal constituency and lost out.
By 2024, The Prince of Abodiland displayed an uncommon courage when he contested for the APC Governorship primary of April 2024, it was another painful defeat.
Despite all these strings of defeat, the professor of pathology and Forensic medicine did not disappear from the political horizon as he remains focused, determined and forward looking to the unfailing God who does His things at the appointed time.
The set time breakthrough came for Prof. Faduyile when there was a vacuum for the Ondo South representative at the senate following the appointment of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent representative to the United Nations. The bye election of June 20 saw the ikoya born politician clinching victory overwhelmingly with 68,740 votes.
It was not surprising therefore that the grand reception at Government field, Ikoya was like another political carnival to celebrate a long awaited political victory.
From the beautifully decorated venue to the massive attendance by Royal fathers across Ikaleland, APC party leaders, Government officials, professional colleagues, political associates, friends and party supporters from across the six local governments covering the entire Ondo South Senatorial District, the message was clear that here comes the appointed time for a man of destiny ordained to be celebrated.
Speaking at the event, Chief of staff to Ondo state Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Prince segun omojuwa described Senator Dayo Faduyile as “One of the shinning lights in Ondo South, while urging him to work closely with the Governor and synergise towards bringing robust dividends of democracy to Ondo state generally.

The APC state chairman, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole said the party is excited that It found “Senator Dayo Faduyile as a round peg in a round hole” , calling for support from all stakeholders so that Ondo South, together with other Senatorial Districts in Ondo state can deliver one million votes for president Bola Tinubu’s second term re-election bid for 2027.
The occasion which was brightened by Ikale born upcoming musical star, Ademola Suzzy brought colour and entertainment to the charged festive mood in the air.
The lessons of the Grand reception goes beyond eating, drinking and merry making and networking by various calibres of people that graced the occasion.
For a politician that can attract royal fathers, party leaders, government officials, political associates, professional colleagues and party supporters across the entire Ondo South District suggests clearly that Senator Faduyile already has a growing political network which can be converted to massive goodwill in the future.
